Annual Spring Luau
April 19, 2017
TSC Ballroom, Dinner at 5:00 p.m., Performance at 7:00 p.m.
The Polynesian Student Union (PSU) aims to share the spirit of the Polynesian people through food, dance, and music at the Spring Luau held each year at Utah State University. The rhythmic beat of the drums, vibrant dances from the pacific islands, and the warm smiles of the performers are ways PSU will show the rich culture and traditions of Polynesia!
The first Luau was established after a small group of students in 1996 formed the Polynesian Student Union as a way to find other students of the same heritage as well as a way to share the Polynesian culture with students and the community. This event would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of dance instructors and performers. Throughout the school year, PSU holds additional meeting times where they teach and learn dances from the pacific islands. The Spring Luau is a time where PSU can express their love and pride for Polynesia. The long hours of practice pays off when performers see audience enjoying the show and supporting their event. To this day, the Spring Luau has been an event that brings people from all walks of life together!
